Frequently Asked Questions

About Our Facility

Are the dogs kept in cages?

No, never. All our guests stay in private, cageless rooms. Your dog has their own comfortable space to rest, with plenty of time outdoors each day.

What does a typical room look like?

We have three room types: single rooms (4' × 10') with a TV, large double rooms (6' × 10') ideal for bigger breeds or two pets from the same family, and cozy toy breed rooms for smaller dogs. All rooms are climate-controlled and designed for your pet's comfort.

What are your play areas like?

We have a heated indoor play area and two large, highly secured outdoor fenced yards (80' × 100' and 40' × 90'). Dogs are brought outside frequently throughout the day for supervised exercise and fresh air.

Is your facility climate-controlled?

Yes. Our facility is fully heated and air-conditioned, with a heat pump, high-speed ventilation fan, and ceiling fans throughout. We maintain a bright, dry, well-ventilated environment year-round.

What happens during a power outage?

We have an automatic Generac generator that powers both our pet facility and our home, so your pet's comfort and safety is never compromised.

Bookings & Check-In

How do I get started?

Just give us a call! We'll chat about your pet, answer any questions, and set up a meet & greet. From there, we'll do a trial day before your first full stay. See our How It Works page for the full process.

Do you require a trial before the first boarding stay?

Yes, we ask all new guests to come in for a trial day first. It's a great way for your dog to get familiar with our space and team, and it helps us understand what makes your dog happiest. It's all about setting them up for a great stay.

Food, Medications & Belongings

Do I need to bring my dog's own food?

Yes, we ask that all owners bring their dog's regular food along with written feeding instructions. Keeping your dog's diet consistent helps avoid stomach upset during their stay.

We provide stainless steel food and water dishes, and have a fridge on-site for food that needs to be kept cold or frozen.

Can I bring my dog's bed or toys?

Absolutely — we encourage it! Familiar items from home can help your dog settle in more comfortably. Please label everything with your pet's name. Note that if any item poses a choking or obstruction risk at any point, it will be removed for your pet's safety.

Should I bring their leash?

All pets must be on a leash or in a carrier during drop-off and pick-up.

Please ensure that collars fit securely and that pets cannot slip out.

Can you administer medications?

Yes. We can administer oral and topical medications with written instructions provided by the owner. Please note that we cannot accept liability if a pet refuses treatment.

Health & Vaccinations

What vaccinations are required?

All dogs must be up to date on: Distemper, Leptospirosis, Hepatitis/Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Bordetella, Parvovirus, and Rabies. Vaccines must be current at the time of check-in. Proof of vaccination is required.

My dog just got vaccinated, can they still come?

Pets must wait 7 days after receiving any vaccine before entering our facility. If you're unsure about your dog's vaccination status, please contact your vet as soon as possible. It can take some time before everything is fully up to date.

What if my dog shows signs of illness during their stay?

Your safety and the safety of all our guests is our priority. If we notice any signs of a contagious condition, we will contact you and/or your emergency contact immediately and may require you to pick up your pet. We are authorized to contact your veterinarian if we need information about your pet's health. Any veterinary expenses are the owner's responsibility.

Do you accept dogs that aren't spayed or neutered?

Yes, though we do recommend spaying and neutering. Please note that intact pets will never be placed in group play with intact pets of the opposite sex. Additional cleaning fees may apply for intact pets. Unspayed females in active heat will be denied entry, so please have a backup care plan in place.

Socialization & Group Play

Can my dog play with other dogs?

Many of our guests love socializing with other dogs! We offer a group play program for dogs assessed as suitable. Dogs are grouped by size and temperament, and any dog showing bullying or aggressive behaviour is removed immediately. Owner consent is required. You accept responsibility for any injuries that may occur during group play.

What if my dog doesn't do well with other dogs?

That's completely fine, not every dog loves group settings. Dogs that prefer their own space are exercised separately in our secured yards and receive plenty of individual attention from our team.

Can two dogs from the same family share a room?

Yes! Owners who prefer that their pets share a room may request this. Please note that you do so at your own risk. If same-family inter-dog aggression arises, we may crate the pets together in one room at no extra charge, or separate them into individual rooms — in which case additional room charges will apply.

Payments & Policies

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept cash, cheque, and e-transfer. We do not accept debit or credit cards at this time.

When is payment due?

Boarding fees are payable in full at check-out. You'll be charged the rate in effect on your check-in date.

Do you board cats?

If you get this question a lot, might be good to have it here.
